I’ve seen people made creative things with recycled fabrics, bamboo, and even old newspapers. Funny enough, my aunt used palm kernel shells for decor once and the thing was so beautiful. Sustainability does not have to be expensive or it’s just about being mindful and creative. Check local markets or your environment, you’ll find plenty of affordable eco-friendly materials. Sometimes, it’s those local finds that give your work the real thing you need.

Start small and use social media to promote everything. I know one lady in Lagos that started by posting her crochet bags on Instagram now she’s getting international orders. I find out that people love handmade items, especially if the presentation makes sense. So, to do that, you have to learn branding, package your stuff well, and engage with people on a deeper level. Don’t wait till everything is perfect before you start. Start and grow with time.
