Creator Conversations

Connect with fellow makers across all mediums. Share your creative journey, discuss challenges and victories of bringing ideas to life, explore monetization strategies, and find support from others who understand the maker lifestyle. From brainstorming concepts to celebrating finished projects, this is your space for authentic conversations about the independent creator experience.

  1. Whether it's advanced video editing, perfect audio mixing, natural on-camera presence, or something completely different - if you could wake up tomorrow having mastered one creator-related skill, what would transform your content most? Explain why that particular skill would be your game-changer and what you'd do with it first.

  2. This one is so difficult because it's easy to lose your creative spark when you’re chasing bills. I learned to separate “creating for joy” and “creating for money.” I do client work during the week, then my personal projects on weekends. That balance keeps me sane. If you don’t protect your creativity, you would so things amidst and burnout will set in.

  3. Every platform's algorithm seems to change weekly, leaving creators constantly adapting. Do you find yourself tailoring content to what you think the algorithm wants, or do you stick to what genuinely interests your audience? Share experiences with algorithm changes that helped or hurt your reach, and strategies for balancing algorithmic optimization with authentic content creation.

  4. Beyond just content creation, how has being part of online communities (like this one) affected your offline relationships, career choices, or personal growth? Share positive changes, unexpected connections, or skills you've developed that translate beyond the digital world. Sometimes the real value of communities isn't what we originally expected.

  5. What operating system do you typically use during your content creation process? Are you fully into the Windows world for everything or MacOS, perhaps you might be a Linux person. Which ever you might choose are you leaning towards one camp or a combination of a two or more?

  6. From shooting strangers with paintball guns to harassing delivery drivers until they pull weapons, some creators seem to think filming makes any behavior acceptable. Why do you think people lose empathy when there's a camera involved? Is it the money, the views, or something deeper?

  7. When viewers donate money specifically to watch creators suffer or embarrass themselves, who's really responsible? Is it just harmless entertainment, or are we training entire communities to find human pain amusing? Have you ever seen chat go too far, and what did you do about it?

  8. Started by Saint Clinton,

If your a creator, streamer, podcaster, vcaster youtuber, etc PLEASE REMEMBER: •Your audience owes you nothing •Be thankful for those that tune in •Guilt tripping your audience for monetization is disgusting • You aren’t owed a follow or sub you earn those

  9. We all have those creative ideas sitting in our "someday" pile - maybe it's learning video editing, starting a podcast, trying game development, or experimenting with a completely different content format. What's on your creative bucket list? What's holding you back, and what would it take to actually start this weekend?

  10. Forget flying cars - what technology advancement would actually make your creative life better? Better compression for faster uploads? Universal scheduling tools? More intuitive editing software? Share your wishlist for creator-focused innovations, whether realistic near-term improvements or dream features that would revolutionize content creation.

  11. If you could go back to when you first started creating content (or thinking about it), what's the one piece of advice you'd give yourself? Would it be technical, mindset-related, or about building community? For those just starting, what questions are you hoping someone will answer from experience?

  12. What's the most valuable piece of advice another creator has given you that actually changed how you work? I'm curious because sometimes one conversation or offhand comment from someone who's been through it can completely shift your perspective. Was it something about workflow, dealing with criticism, finding your unique voice, or maybe just practical stuff like scheduling or monetization? And did you implement it right away or did it take time to sink in? I feel like the best advice often comes from creators who are just a few steps ahead of you rather than the huge names because they remember what your current struggles actually feel like 💯

  13. Writing about current events, or creating videos/podcast on current topic is easy, however, the trends fade fast. If you want long-term traffic on your written content or audio visual content, focus on evergreen topics, the topics that stay relevant for years. This strategy will help you get ongoing traffic. You might not get immediate traffic, but unlike current topics that stops accumulating views after a while, evergreen content generates regular traffic.

  14. Finding your niche is a journey, I won't lie. I started doing random stuff like travel, tech, food until I noticed people vibed more with my tech tips. That’s how I locked in. Sometimes it’s not about what you love alone but what people connect with too. Just experiment and watch what clicks with you. You’ll figure it out eventually. So, it needs no pressure at all.

  15. Do you collaborate with other creators often or do you prefer working solo and keeping full creative control? I'm interested because collaboration seems like it could be amazing for reaching new audiences and bouncing ideas around, but it also means compromising on your vision and dealing with scheduling conflicts and different work styles. Have you found collaborations that actually worked well and felt worth the effort or do they usually end up being more hassle than they're worth? And if you do collaborate, how do you choose who to work with friends, people in your niche or creators with completely different audiences?

  16. We've all had those content ideas that seemed like complete duds but ended up being surprisingly popular with our audience. Share your unexpected wins - what content performed way better than expected? Was it timing, authenticity, or just hitting a topic at the right moment? Sometimes the content we're least confident about resonates the most.

  17. For me, the keys to remaining motivated and inspired is being curious, taking calculated risks, and joining a supportive community. That way, you’ll surround yourself with creative people and be inspired by creativity. Being curious also makes me focused and motivated to continue exploring no matter the situation.

It's been one of those stories we've heard countless times, of how a channel is smacked with a copyright claim or strike that was fraudulent. Many cases it is from a company that doesn't even hold the copyright to the claimed work. These companies hold onto the idea of many creators not having the resources to fully research or fight back, so they simply comply and lose out on money that is being stolen from them. We also have on the other side of the coin of large companies taken advantage of YouTube's copyright system and using it in a way to stifle fair use procedure. Steve from Gamer's Nexus is a just one of the larger YouTube channels that has the resources to fight…

  20. Creating a personal brand is the most important thing for a creator. It has a lot to do with your personal style, interaction with the audience and more emphasis on your skills. To build a personal brand, ensure that what you are posting portrays your brand in terms of style and tone. Honesty is also a very important key thing.

  23. One of the streamers involved in the Jean Pormanove case claims "everything was consensual" and the deceased could "leave anytime he wanted." But when someone is financially dependent on harmful content and potentially struggling with mental health issues, can we really call it true consent? Where do you draw the line between personal choice and exploitation?

  24. Had just got done watching EposFox's latest upload in which he explains where his headspace has been over the past few months. Something I feel is very similar to what I myself have been feeling as well. To have that growing expectation of producing content week after week, to be chasing that YouTube dragon of relevancy is extremely tiring. He makes several great points in what were his struggles over the years, leading up to the recent point in time. To have this fomo of wanting to produce content that is going to be on the forefront of a trend on YouTube only to feel some sort of defeatism when you don't have that spark you once had. I know first hand on how this was. …
