Chat Culture: Are We Creating Digital Bullies?

  • Administrators

When viewers donate money specifically to watch creators suffer or embarrass themselves, who's really responsible? Is it just harmless entertainment, or are we training entire communities to find human pain amusing? Have you ever seen chat go too far, and what did you do about it?

That's messy honestly. I've seen chat push creators into uncomfortable stuff for donations and it feels gross. Both sides share responsibility..the creator sets boundaries and the audience respects them. I think we've normalized watching people degrade themselves for money. When chat crosses lines, calling it out matters even if it kills the vibe temporarily.

It's like people are just using online to display their wicked side. The way some folks insult others over a small disagreement is crazy. I think it's because we don't see each other face-to-face, some people feel too bold to talk anyhow. I’ve seen creators almost quit because of hate comments.

People get too comfortable dropping rude words online. Maybe it’s clout chasing or frustration, I don't even know. For me, if I don't like your content, I just scroll. But some people want to “teach” you a lesson with insults. That's a digital madness.
