It's another day that ends in Y that there is another data breach of some sort. Its pretty much a given in that your information being held on some database is not secure what so ever. We've seen breaches on our credit report holders, resulting in a year of credit monitoring service for a year. This only becomes a meme at this point with breaches after another.

This time a third-party provider has been breached that was involved with Discord.

One of Discord’s third-party customer service providers was compromised by an “unauthorized party,” the company says. The unauthorized party gained access to “information from a limited number of users who had contacted Discord through our Customer Support and/or Trust & Safety teams” and aimed to “extort a financial ransom from Discord.” The unauthorized party “did not gain access to Discord directly.”

Discord customer service data breach leaks user info and...

An “unauthorized party” may have accessed the names of users, the last four digits of credit card numbers, and more.

I have a Discord account but I don't really use it much so hopefully my data wasn't caught up in this... Nothing feels secure anymore.

This is very scary. It's worrisome how the platforms we use on a daily basis are leaking our data anyhow. I don't even trust online privacy again. Imagine your chat with customer service ending up in public. 😩 I think Discord should step up their security game very quickly, because data leaks are no small issues at all.

I saw that news too and I just shake my head. That is the major reasons why I am been careful with what I share online. Even big companies slip up sometime and that’s crazy. I think the users also need to reduce how much info we give these apps.
