Whenever it comes to editing software, one can find a lot of great options. Adobe premiere and Capcut are highly used for video editing. For audio editing, the common tools are Audacity or Adobe audition. The trick is to identify a program that can accommodate you according to your needs and proficiency.

Typically I lean towards DaVinci Resolve for running my video edits through. I tried Capcut and OpusClips before but, most of the short form videos that they make, don't make much sense or are not of a great quality. Of course this was a couple years ago.

I use CapCut all the way and I’m not using the Pro version. The free version features is sufficient and it gives me a lot of control.

On Windows I always use DaVinci Resolve for my video editing needs. Whenever I use Linux, I use Kdenlive. I know DaVinci Resolve works on Linux but last time I tried using it I felt that it was more of a pain to use. I couldn't move the window so it was fixed into place which was annoying. I'm not sure if they fixed this problem, but I'll just stick to using Kdenlive when using Linux. For sound recording I just use Window's built in software. :V I have audacity, I should probably start using that instead.
