Marketing and funds are the major challenges to indie devs. Building a community around the game and spreading the news about it may be very challenging. I think the solution may lie in an attempt to cooperate with influencers on social media platforms.

I would prefer to create content on games, and would like to focus more on indie games and retro games because I love finding hidden gems and sharing them with people.

In case social media disappeared tomorrow, I will use the mailing list systems and Discord groups to address my audience. It would be better to establish direct channels of communication with the audience. So, my take is that diversification is necessary and we should not limit ourselves to only one platform.

I moved to Bluesky because Twitter has gone toxic. It was a great change and I found a comparatively positive community on Bluesky. It may take time to rebuild, but the features of the new platform has proved to be worth it.
